Dahlias in the Mountains: An October Wedding in the Poconos
Last October, we had the joy of designing florals for a wedding nestled in the foothills of the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania. The leaves were blazing in vibrant reds, golds, and ambers, and the crisp, cool air carried the leaves like confetti on the breeze. It was the perfect backdrop for a day that celebrated love and the simple yet sacred joy of being together.
The couple wanted a Playful, bohemian-inspired feel, and we couldn’t have asked for a more joyful, lighthearted group to bring that vision to life. The energy was high, smiles were abundant, and the mood was effortlessly celebratory.
Our floral designs reflected both the season and the couple’s personality. Dahlias stole the show, their ruffly textures and warm, earthy tones perfectly echoing the colors of the surrounding landscape. We layered in playful cosmos and tons of draping and grassy elements to create designs full of rich color, texture, and depth. Florals adorned and dripped down specialty pumpkins hand-picked by the bride that lined the ceremony aisle and were repurposed as Reception centerpieces along with eclectic gatherings of bud vases, custom newspapers and other bohemian elements, a petite swag of grasses and blooms was styled on the welcome sign sweetly made by the bride’s daughter, and we happily stepped aside to give the mother of the bride, also the baker of the wedding cake, full reign to top their cake with an assortment of edible flowers provided by us. Every detail was infused with family, making the day feel wholesome, heartwarming, and so full of meaning—and we were truly honored to be part of it. L&A, Thank you for giving us the opportunity to play a small part in your beautiful, joyous day!
